Last week, Mediaplanet revealed its most recent cross platform campaign all about Home Improvement and Safety, with the help of key partners such as the National Safety Council and CSA Group. One of the key elements of the live campaign is home safety and preparedness, especially since September is National Preparedness Month.

“Home Improvement” is a live site that answers all of your home improvement, safety, remodeling, buying and selling questions with high quality editorial partners and all original content. The digital campaign is being distributed nationally through a vast social media strategy and across a network of top news sites and partner outlets. HGTV host and author Scott McGillivray is featured on the cover of both the print and digital editions. In Mediaplanet’s exclusive interview with the icon, he shares his tips for smarter home renovations and warns readers of the dangers of investing without inspection. “There is so much more than meets the eye when it comes to properties,” he explains. “There are always surprises lurking behind walls.”

As September is National Safety Month, the campaign emphasizes the importance of appliance safety and product certification. CSA Group urges readers to learn the types of marks that are required to be on your products. “It is important to not only be aware of what certification marks look like but also what they mean,” says Rich Weiser, VP of CSA Group, one of North America’s independent testing laboratories, providing testing and certification for consumer, commercial and industrial products.
