Turner Construction Company will host an Innovation Summit, October 1- 3, bringing together employees and other industry leaders to share and collaborate on best practices, engage with each other, and leverage their collective knowledge to drive improvements and innovations at Turner.
The Turner Innovation Summit features presentations, workshops, and hands-on training sessions led by Turner employees and industry leaders. Sessions will focus on practical improvements, emerging technologies and process solutions, with topics that range from 3D printing, augmented reality, and modularization to Lean process improvement, project collaboration and the application of advanced technologies for better project results in areas of cost, quality, and safety.
This Summit is part of a broader program to foster the company’s culture of innovation and facilitate the sharing and application of lessons learned. Turner has long recognized that when employees ask questions, share experiences, and learn from each other, they position themselves and Turner to make a difference in the lives of the company’s people, customers and community.
Over the course of the three-day event, the entire company will have the opportunity to follow the proceedings via live webcast, and participate in conversations online through the company’s knowledge sharing platform, the Turner Learning Tree. The Turner Learning Tree provides access to documented Great Practices and an Improvement Forum for asking questions and engaging with subject matter experts in a real-time, social environment.
The event is also designed to encourage the collaborative development of submissions to Turner’s Award for Innovation program, which recognizes and rewards teams and individuals for implementation of innovative ideas that result in outstanding achievements. With the Award, employees have shared hundreds of innovative great practices and have shared in cash awards totaling more than $125,000 to date.
