American College of Education to Introduce a New Master of Education in Instructional Design and Technology Degree
Indianapolis, IN (PRWEB) September 25, 2014 -- American College of Education, a leading provider of online graduate programs for educators, today announced it is offering a new master’s degree in instructional design and technology. “I am particularly excited to add this new degree to our programs because developing effective instruction is my passion,” announced Lee Tincher, academic dean of American College of Education.
The new degree will compliment many professions. “We’ve developed this degree program to help prepare candidates in a variety of professions, including K-12 education, higher education, government and corporate settings,” Tincher said. “At American College of Education, we incorporated into this degree–and believe is vital to our global vision–the study of ethics and laws related to technology-based delivery, which is integrated within every course.”
The M.Ed. in Instructional Design and Technology will focus on developing, implementing, and evaluating effective instruction in both online and face-to-face settings. “As we are never restricted by geography, our classes are taught online; however, we teach our students how to deliver via the web as well as in traditional classroom venues,” Tincher added. “An instructional designer has the responsibility to include the subject details as well as the organization’s big picture, while ensuring the delivery matches the content–all items we include in this new degree program.”
One of the founding principles at American College of Education is to improve the quality of education throughout the world. “Our new degree reaches this global principle, as it focuses our students on developing the needed coursework to reach a worldwide audience, even when our world continues to get smaller through the use of technology,” said Shawntel Landry, interim president.
The college offers Master of Education, specialist, and doctoral degree programs for teachers and other education professionals, in addition to certificates and paths to licensure programs. “We are proud to be the first online graduate school for educators that fulfills the promise of earning a quality, online degree on a teacher’s budget,” Landry said. American College of Education offers master’s degree program tuition for $215 per credit hour. Details on the M.Ed. in Instructional Design and Technology are listed on the college’s website under academics.
