Greenberg Traurig’s Alexandra Aguirre Moderates Panel at 2014 Latin American Cities Conference in Guatemala City
MIAMI (PRWEB) September 25, 2014 -- Alexandra Aguirre, a shareholder in the Corporate and Securities Practice at the Miami office of international law firm Greenberg Traurig, moderated a panel discussion at the 2014 Latin American Cities Conference in Guatemala City on Aug. 14. The conference was hosted by the Americas Society/Council of the Americas in partnership with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Guatemala and FUNDESA.
Aguirre’s panel focused on development and regional integration, with discussion on the area’s current accomplishments, as well as the policies and challenges to achieve more regional coordination in the future.
This conference, held at the Westin Camino Real in Guatemala City, focused on Guatemala’s role as a regional leader and its development as an economy of interest for investment. A distinguished group of internationally recognized business leaders, government officials, economists, and journalists discussed Guatemala’s development and subsequent role in regional integration, with a focus on the economy, security and investment.
“The international business community is focused on this region for future growth and development opportunities,” said Aguirre, “In an increasingly global world, Guatemala can play an important leadership role in the region’s integration.”
Aguirre focuses her practice in the areas of mergers and acquisitions, domestic and international corporate transactions, corporate finance, and debt and equity private placements throughout Latin America, with an emphasis on Mexico and Central America. She also advises families in matters relating to running privately held businesses. Aguirre serves as a member of both the American and International Bar Associations and holds the FFI GEN Advanced Certificate in Family Business Advising (ACFBA). Aguirre received a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing and Entrepreneurial Studies from Babson College before obtaining a Juris Doctor degree from Northeastern University School of Law.
