The number of outsourced coding and revenue cycle management initiatives have doubled over a years’ time as the number of hospitals confront the challenges of implementing suitable solutions before the 2015 ICD-10 deadline, according to the recently published Black Book™ surveys of hospital technology and physician leaders. 24 percent of hospitals now outsource Clinical documentation audit, review and programming, up from 12% last year. By Q3 2015, 71 percent of hospitals plan on having a CDI services partner help them adjust and survive under the new codes. Full end-to-end revenue cycle outsourcing launches have increased 58% since 2013.
