Sauk Rapids, MN (PRWEB) September 26, 2014
Talon Innovations, a provider of Precision Machined Products and Assemblies for the Semiconductor, Medical Device, Aerospace and other technology-driven industries, announces today that it has won the Minnesota Business magazine’s Employee Training award for 2014. This award recognizes companies for excellence in helping Minnesota-based employees improve their manufacturing skills.
“We continuously invest in our people, our processes and our capabilities and we are delighted to have received recognition from Minnesota Business magazine for our dedication to employee development” said Greg Olson, CEO of Talon.
Talon was awarded a grant from the Minnesota Job Skills Partnership (MSJP) earlier in 2014 and has worked in partnership with the St. Cloud Technical & Community College (SCTCC) to develop curriculum and roll out training for employees. The training is intended largely to support Talon’s continued expansion into medical contract manufacturing.
Each year Minnesota Business magazine honors the industry’s best leaders and companies with a prestigious awards event and much-read feature article spotlighting all the finalists. This year the event was held in Minneapolis on Sept 23, and Talon will be featured in the October Manufacturing issue of Minnesota Business magazine.
Michelle Squire, VP of Human Resources for Talon was quoted to say that “Expanding our employees' skills is vital to our success. Our focus is on building the foundation for a robust training program in partnership with St. Cloud Tech Community College made possible in part by the MJSP grant. We are proud to be recognized for our achievements in employee training, and know continuous improvement in this vital area will be a strong emphasis in the future.”
