Advanced Discovery’s Webinar to Address eDiscovery Myths
Austin, TX (PRWEB) September 30, 2014 -- Advanced Discovery has announced its upcoming eDiscovery-focused webinar, to be presented in conjunction with the Association of Certified eDiscovery Professionals (ACEDS). The one-hour presentation will be hosted by two eDiscovery experts, Carolyn Young, solutions engineer at Advanced Discovery and Lisa Simmons, partner of Edwards Wildman Palmer LLP. The presenters will review recent court opinions along with the FRCP and their application to seven common eDiscovery beliefs. The goal? To separate facts from myths.
“As the practice of eDiscovery has become more prevalent,” said Young of the webinar, “it’s important for attorneys and their technology partners to understand the importance of working together and to understand their responsibilities in leading or participating in the eDiscovery process. Based on our experiences in this area, we have identified common myths that many professionals in this industry still hold on to. We also want to reinforce some best practices when combining eDiscovery with the use of technology.”
Some of the issues to be addressed include:
• Ethical requirements regarding eDiscovery knowledge
• Who actually uses eDiscovery
• Litigation hold notice parameters
• The efficacy of predictive coding (technology assisted review)
• Who determines which technologies to use for discovery
• Proportionality
• Cooperation and collaboration.
The live webinar will be held Wednesday, October 22th, 2014, 10:00 AM PST, 1:00 PM EST.
Pre-registration is required. Register on ACEDS website: http://www.aceds.org/7-common-myths-about-ediscovery-myth-or-fact/
