Local Business Group Backs John Morris for Los Angeles County Assessor Joining over 200 Local Endorsers
Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) September 26, 2014 -- Citing his experience as a leader in the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office and his history as a licensed real estate agent, the Glendale Association of REALTORS (R) recently strongly endorsed John Morris for Los Angeles County Assessor.
"We are proud to endorse John Morris for LA County Assessor," said Glendale Association of REALTORS (R) president Rick Barnes. "In addition to holding a real estate license and having a background in real estate law, he is a Deputy District Attorney with a longtime commitment to protecting the public from crime and corruption."
The 1,700 member Association represents real estate agents and professionals in Glendale and the wider region that also includes all or parts of Los Angeles, Montrose, La Canada-Flintridge, La Crescenta, and the area's Foothill communities.
"As a licensed real estate professional, I deeply appreciate the strong endorsement and support of the Glendale Association of REALTORS (R)," said John Morris. "Property tax provides up to 3 times as much revenue locally for critical services like schools, roads, and public safety. Having the support of leaders in the local real estate market is helping build our campaign's momentum daily."
According to the Chief Administrative Officer of the County of Los Angeles in his annual budget report in June 2014, property tax provided almost three times as much government revenue to the county and other local agencies as sales tax, the next largest revenue stream.
"Since the passage of Prop 13, property tax has been the most stable and fastest growing public revenue source in California," explained John Morris. "As Assessor, I will insure that Prop 13 is fully implemented and that the Assessor's Office reforms its operations to be as transparent as possible."
