Adopting Lucy is one of the best things I've ever done. I didn't just save her, she saved me too. It's important to me for people to know that there are wonderful dogs and cats waiting for homes at their local shelter.
LOS ANGELES (PRWEB) September 25, 2014
A stand-out star on Saturday Night Live, Cecily Strong, is the latest celebrity to lend her support to Best Friends Animal Society and the campaign to end the killing of dogs and cats in our nation’s shelters.
From memorable characters to celebrity impersonations, Strong is a fan favorite on SNL and is returning for her third season on this venerable NBC show Saturday, September 27. Next seen in upcoming feature films, "Staten Island Summer" and “The Bronze,” Strong also voices several characters in "The Awesomes," the HULU original series created by Seth Meyers.
Strong joins Danny Trejo, Carrie Ann Inaba, Denise Richards, Nils Lofgren, Josef Newgarden and other celebrities who will be featured in Best Friends’ photo campaign featuring celebrities posed with their personal rescued dogs and/or cats in support of the Save Them All call to action.
Strong said of her own rescued dog, who came from Best Friends Pet Adoption Center in Mission Hills/Los Angeles, "Adopting Lucy is one of the best things I've ever done. I didn't just save her, she saved me too. It's important to me for people to know that there are wonderful dogs and cats waiting for homes at their local shelter. If you're thinking about getting a pet, please save a life by adopting. Together, we can Save Them All."
According to national statistics, each day more than 9,000 dogs and cats die in the nation’s shelters. Best Friends has brought increased awareness to how people can get involved in the solution by adopting, and spaying/neutering their pets, donating, volunteering and sharing this message with their friends.
