ARCTEC Alaska Selected for Air Force Radar O&M Contract
Beltsville, MD (PRWEB) September 25, 2014 -- ARCTEC Alaska, a joint venture partnership of ASRC Federal Primus and ATCO Structures & Logistics, has been awarded the Alaska Radar System operations and maintenance services contract. The contract is valued at over $340 million with a one-year base and 10 one-year options.
Under the contract, the ASRC Federal Primus joint venture will support the operations and maintenance of 15 geographically separated radar sites, three remote radio sites and Maintenance Control and Communications center activities of the Regional Air Operations Center at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson. The radar operations and maintenance work includes long-range radars in direct support of the North American Aerospace Defense Command, or NORAD, and the United States Northern Command mission for air sovereignty within Alaska and provides civil aircraft information to the Federal Aviation Administration.

In addition to radar and communications and electronics systems support, the team will provide operations and maintenance of government facilities, seven gravel airstrips, over 50 miles of gravel access road, water/wastewater systems, power generation, environmental management, weather observation, logistics support and third-party support for other federal and state agencies.
