Project HEAL Benefit Golf Tournament Gaining Momentum
ST. LOUIS, MO (PRWEB) October 01, 2014 -- Join the more than 80 golfers who already have signed up for Castlewood Eating Disorder Treatment Center’s first ever charity golf tournament to benefit Project HEAL, a not-for-profit organization that provides grants for people with eating disorders who cannot afford treatment. The tournament will be held Monday, Oct. 6, at Fox Run Golf Club in Eureka, Mo.
The day-long event starts with 10:30 a.m. check-in and shotgun start time at noon. A reception and award dinner will begin at 5 p.m. and will include an auction featuring recovery artwork at 6 p.m. Online registration is available at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/castlewood-golf-tournament-benefiting-project-heal-tickets-11541191013
“We are thrilled with the support the golf tournament has generated so far and we’re counting on even more people joining us so we can have a huge impact on scholarship availability for Project HEAL,” said Nancy Albus, Castlewood CEO. “Together, we will increase the opportunity to transform the lives of those suffering from an eating disorder to one of healing.”
In addition to providing funds for people who otherwise would not be able to get the life-saving treatment they need, Project HEAL also raises community awareness about eating disorders by providing speakers at schools and community health organizations. It also works with legislative offices to inform government leaders about the health risks associated with these disorders.
“Statistics show that more than 30 million people in the United States suffer from eating disorders, and we hope to help as many as possible in seeking life-saving treatment,” said Albus. “The Castlewood staff, together with the professionals at Project HEAL, is committed to increasing access to treatment.”
Community support for the tournament continues to gain momentum with the addition of Lakeview Health Center in Jacksonville, Fla., as a $10,000 Platinum Sponsor. Lakeview Health is a private drug and alcohol rehab center that specializes in holistic treatment for clients. Others include UMB Bank and Zimmer Midamerica as $5,000 Silver Sponsors. Sponsorships are still available by contacting Madison Luna at 636-386-6611, or madison.luna(at)castlewoodtc.com. As an added incentive, Castlewood has created a matching challenge fund and will donate one dollar for every dollar raised.
In addition to a day of golfing at a premiere St. Louis course, the tournament will feature a silent auction. Among the featured items there will be individually created recovery artwork by Castlewood alumni and current Castlewood clients. The artwork represents the journey of recovery in a variety of media.
