M. Hope Keating Elected President of William H. Stafford American Inn of Court

M. Hope Keating, a Shareholder in the Tallahassee Appellate Practice of international law firm Greenberg Traurig P.A., has been elected president of the William H. Stafford American Inn of Court. She will be sworn in Sept. 29 and will serve as president of the Inn for one year.

Founded in 1989, the William H. Stafford American Inn of Court is a Tallahassee chapter of the national American Inn of Court. The group is comprised of 100 lawyers, judges and law students dedicated to the mission of fostering professionalism and civility in the justice system. Membership in this prestigious group is based on peer nomination.

“The whole premise of the Inn of Court is critically important to the legal profession – there can never be too much emphasis placed on professionalism or civility in the practice of law,” said Keating. “During my term as president, I look forward to enhancing and developing our Inn’s mentoring program for lawyers of all ages and experience levels.”

A member of the organization since 2001, Hope served as the Inn’s president-elect and counselor during the 2013-14 term. She has also held other leadership positions as the Inn’s secretary and program committee chair.

The mission of the American Inns of Court is to foster excellence in professionalism, ethics, civility and legal skills for judges, lawyers, academicians and students of law in order to perfect the quality, availability and efficiency of justice in the United States.

At Greenberg Traurig, Keating handles appeals for clients in both state and federal courts. Her areas of representation include all aspects of civil and administrative law. Additionally, Keating regularly advises a myriad of health care facilities and providers on a wide array of complex and practical regulatory matters such as licensure, medical records, end-of-life issues, patient discharge, contracts and Medicare and Medicaid certification.

She is involved in a multitude of community initiatives including: member, First District Appellate American Inn of Court; member, The Florida Bar (Appellate Practice and Advocacy and Health Law sections); member and Silver Owl, National Press Club; and sustaining member, Junior League of Tallahassee. She is also a former board member of the Girl Scout Council of the Florida Panhandle, Inc.

Throughout her career, Keating has received numerous awards and recognitions. Most recently, she was listed in The Best Lawyers in America, Appellate Practice, Health Care Law, 2010-2015.
