Canadian-based The Second Cup Coffee Company Inc. (“Second Cup”) continues to develop its global presence. As part of its continued global expansion strategy, it will open a flagship location in the heart of Manchester, UK.
The 2500-square-foot, two-level café is scheduled to open in Manchester city center in early October of 2014 on Corporation Street next to the Arndale Mall. "Second Cup cafés are designed to be a second home —there’s plenty of space with plenty of varied seating for relaxation or work. Our cafés are designed to make everyone feel at home. Whether they are students, business people, families, or just wanting to relax and have a drink or hungry for great food – Second Cup is their place!” said Jim Ragas, President of Second Cup International.
"We designed the interior with plenty of wide spaces broken into several smaller, more intimate groupings, to provide the atmosphere of a traditional, but much brighter, coffee house. The natural light is uplifting and a stimulus to creativity, especially for those who are there to work," comments Masood Akbarzai, Franchise Partner and Director of Akbarzai Business Associates UK LTD Manchester. "I am very honoured to bring the Second Cup Café brand to Manchester and excited by the enthusiasm we have already received from the local community", added Akbarzai.
“Second Cup believes that having strong local owners as operators and franchise partners is instrumental to delivering a superior guest-experience and this has been proven in the 26 regions worldwide in which we have grown. We are fortunate to have franchise partners who share our passion for the coffee business and are fully aligned with the Second Cup vision. Our franchise partners are selected on the basis of their business acumen, passion for the coffee café business and customer service, local relationships and entrepreneurial spirit,” said Ragas.
The Second Cup coffee café concept originated in 1975 in Toronto, Canada. Second Cup’s international expansion started in 2003 and has opened cafés in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Syria, Jordan, Riyadh, Qatar, Oman, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Kuwait, U.S.A., Cyprus, Romania, Lebanon, Morocco, Kurdistan, Iraq, Taiwan, Azerbaijan, Libya, Pakistan and Ghana. Second Cup café operators are committed to serving the best and highest quality coffees in the world in an inviting ambience with uncompromising standards of customer service, product quality and freshness.
Second Cup cafés are located in 26 regions worldwide with over 130 operating internationally. Second Cup is actively seeking new regional franchise partners for additional area development within the UK as well as globally.
