MIAMI (PRWEB) September 29, 2014
The Latin America and Iberian Practice Group of the international law firm Greenberg Traurig, P.A. received the “Corporate/M&A Law Firm of the Year – International Counsel in Latin America” award at the sixth-annual Chambers and Partners Latin America Awards for Excellence ceremony held in Miami on Sept. 19. Greenberg Traurig also was a finalist in the “Law Firm of the Year” award in the Corporate & Finance – Florida-based (International Counsel in Latin America) category.
“The firm has expanded its Latin American presence in recent years and is widely regarded as a player in the corporate/M&A space, advising clients across the spectrum of sector issues,” said Andres Jaramillo Mejia, Editor of Chambers Latin America.
According to Chambers and Partners, the awards recognize the achievements of the leading law firms working in Latin America, including their involvement in the year’s most high-profile matters, their success with new ventures, and market-wide acclaim from clients. Based in the U.K., Chambers and Partners publishes guides ranking attorneys and law firms based on thousands of interviews with practicing lawyers and clients around the world.
“We are honored to receive this prestigious award,” said Richard A. Rosenbaum, CEO of Greenberg Traurig. “Since we are the only global firm that was born in Miami, we have been involved in Latin America for decades and our team is well deserving of this recognition. In a world where pedigree alone is less relevant in clients' hiring decisions, our vision is to be the firm that delivers a level of quality equivalent to firms like the global elite who were also nominated, while also delivering extraordinary value due to our geographical platform and our operational efficiencies. We are proud of our team and this validation of our model in a new world.”
Added Patricia Menéndez-Cambó, chair of the firm's 200-plus member Global Practice Group: “We are very grateful to our clients and law firms based in Latin America for making it possible for us to receive this prestigious recognition. We look forward to continuing to expand our practice in response to a growing demand for the high-quality, business-focused legal counsel that GreenbergTraurig is known to provide.”
