We enjoy taking part in local events and this is an important cause. We are happy to participate, and perhaps meet some folks who need our help too.
Fulton, Maryland (PRWEB) October 01, 2014
Each year in October, Mary Jordan, owner of Bra La La at 8180 Maple Lawn Avenue in Fulton, decided that owning an upscale lingerie shop to fit women for undergarments placed her in the perfect position to bring local attention to the enormous number of women whose lives are turned upside down by breast cancer. As a natural born volunteer with outstanding organizing skills, Ms. Jordan decided to elicit the help of other business people on Maple Lawn and raise money for Breast Cancer Awareness and support three local charities at that time.
PSG Clarity, a Division of Planning Solutions Group located at 8161 Maple Lawn Avenue Suite #400 has joined forces with Bra La La in this fundraising effort. Brian Kuhn explained, “We enjoy taking part in local events and this is an important cause. We are happy to participate, and perhaps meet some folks who need our help too.”
As Ms. Jordan told reporter Deidre McCabe in an interview for Howard Magazine, “I wanted to do something quirky to bring attention to the issue.” From the first fundraiser until now, she has kicked off each year’s event with what has come to be called “The Bra Stretch”. And, this year, that tradition continues when Pink Night and the business of Maple Lawn opens this year’s awareness fundraiser at 5 P.M. on Friday, October 3, 2014.
“The event starts at Bra La La where cards are available listing all the participating merchants,” Mr. Kuhn said when asked what PSG Clarity would be doing. “If you want to know exactly what we are doing, you’ll have to drop by and find out; but, we will be doing our part.”
This year’s funds will benefit Red Devils and Success in Style. Red Devils assists funding support services that improve the quality of life for cancer patients and their families. Success in Style assists women by providing modern business apparel to low income women seeking better employment. Ms. Jordan’s Pink Night effort has raised more than $130,000 to date and hope to exceed their goals this year.
