Fingr gives users the power to shape smarter local buzz. Fingr is like Reddit taken to the streets -- with Fingr users tie conversations to real-world locations so getting in the know is faster and more fun!

This app is a pretty cool new way of discovering new things around the area and talking about it with others nearby!

The first personal broadcast channel for local buzz, Fingr, is released worldwide on Android. Fingr gives everyone the power to be a hero to people in places everywhere because with Fingr users help others get in-the-know fast about what’s happening around them or the places they care about.

Fingr users can rally friends for an impromptu meetup at the park, alert strangers about a newsworthy event happening nearby, or engage from afar with fans at the live game.

With Fingr, users tie conversations to a GPS coordinate. Conversations are then overlaid onto the real world, so it’s easy to see what’s being talked about where. Unlike other “hyperlocal” apps, Fingr enables users to talk about the smallest of small locations. Discussions are no longer limited to restaurants, businesses, or places with an address.

Fingr improves upon existing social media because it’s location-centric. Unlike traditional social media platforms that force users to “friend” or “follow” people, Fingr is a public discussion forum so who a user knows no longer has to limit how far their message can travel. And unlike proximity-based social media platforms that only let users talk to people nearby, Fingr lets users talk to anyone, anywhere so users control where the discussions take place.

Fingr makes local buzz-building fast and fun.

Early Fingr user O. Caballero says, "This app is a pretty cool new way of discovering new things around the area and talking about it with others nearby!"

     - Streetcorner-level granularity as opposed to global neighborhood-level

     - Circle of Influence mechanism rewards active participation

Fingr Pricing & Availability:
Fingr is a free app on the Google Play Store. Fingr for iOS is forthcoming.
