New Children’s book teaches importance of following rules, respecting parents
SOUTH AFRICA (PRWEB) September 10, 2014 -- “Whingey Wanda: The Worst Mom...?” by Kimberly Olsen is a heartwarming and delightful volume that unravels the relationship between a mother and a daughter. This book is the author’s revelation on how she had handled her three daughters and this inspired her to create a book that teaches children the importance of following rules and respecting parents.
Whingey Wanda hates following her mother’s rules and often complains loudly to anyone who will listen. Wanda’s misbehaving forces her mother to put her in a time-out, leaving Wanda thinking she has the worst mother ever, but when Wanda disobeys one very important rule and ends up hurt, she realizes that sometimes mother does know best.
“The theme is quite universal,” Olsen reveals. “What mother has not heard it?”
An excerpt from “Whingey Wanda”:
“Little Whingey Wanda likes to get her own way. Whingey is another word for someone who likes to complain. Wanda likes to complain and she hates rules. The problem is, her mom has millions of rules- or at least they seem like a million.”
Brimming with life lessons and pure human emotions, “Whingey Wanda” highlights the importance of
parents in the lives of children and how the value of respect can breed love, peace and understanding.
