Connexin's Office Practicum® Pediatric EHR has Achieved NCQA Patient Centered Medical Home Prevalidation
Horsham, PA (PRWEB) January 16, 2014 -- Connexin Software, Inc., a leading provider of electronic health record (EHR) and practice management (PM) software solutions for pediatric medicine, has earned 2011 Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH) Prevalidation from The National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA).
“By providing software that helps physician practices build the patient-focused, coordinated care infrastructure expected of NCQA patient-centered medical homes, Connexin’s Office Practicum suite is helping practices be part of modern healthcare's most important transformations,” said NCQA President Margaret E. O’Kane. “Medical homes are the way of the future, and Office Practicum is helping practices get there.”
“Pediatricians need a technology partner they can rely on to meet the demands of today’s rapidly changing healthcare environment,” said Connexin Product Manager Peter Minio. “At Office Practicum, we are working hard every day to make our clients’ lives easier and reach patients by affording them the ability to excel as practitioners. We believe that attaining PCMH Prevalidation with NCQA makes the application process much easier for our clients so they can focus on what matters most - delivering great patient care.”
Office Practicum natively supports a total of up to 61 credits towards PCMH recognition, assisting client practices with more than 60% of the work necessary to receive Level 3 Recognition. Practices can receive up to 7.75 transferable autocredits using Office Practicum, ePrescribing, and a patient portal. Practices also receive up to an additional 53.25 credits with the Office Practicum Medical Home report bundle and other product features. "Having been through the process of transforming my practice to a NCQA Level 3 Medical Home, I can honestly say that utilizing Office Practicum reports, tools, and resources was key to making it possible,” said Connexin Medical Director Susan Kressly, MD. “Functionality that adds autocredits or generates electronic reports is incredibly helpful!"
About NCQA
National Committee for Quality Assurance is a private, non-profit organization dedicated to improving healthcare quality. NCQA accredits and certifies a wide range of healthcare organizations. It also recognizes clinicians and practices in key areas of performance. NCQA is committed to providing health care quality information for consumers, purchasers, health care providers and researchers.
NCQA’s Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH) 2011 Prevalidation program evaluates Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems, advanced registries, population health management tools and other related technology solutions providing functionality that completely meet Factor level requirements within NCQA’s PCMH 2011 Standards. The evaluation can result in Automatic Credit, “autocredit”, for functionality that meet this criterion. Once scored points have been awarded, the product is considered “Prevalidated” with approved autocredit. The approved autocredit can then be transferred to practices utilizing the prevalidated product’s functionality, eliminating the provision of documentation for the associated factors within their PCMH 2011 Survey.
