Charter School Management Corporation Names Jennifer Afdahl Rice Chief Client Services Officer
Temecula, CA (PRWEB) January 28, 2014 -- Charter School Management Corporation (CSMC) provides “back office” and startup services to emerging and growing charter schools, ranging from 60 students on one campus to more than 3,000 students on multiple campuses. CSMC’s charter and district school clients are located in 11 states, including California where the company is headquartered. CSMC has continued to experience steady growth nationwide and currently supports 150 schools. To support this growth, CSMC has hired Jennifer Afdahl Rice to serve as its chief client services officer.
President Sandro Lanni, “considers CSMC fortunate to have Jennifer Afdahl Rice join our team. Jennifer brings a vast amount of resources to CSMC and her expertise in both finance and business development will be an asset to our team and our charter school clients.”
Jennifer Afdahl Rice has over 15 years of experience working with small businesses, social enterprises, and non-profit organizations, including public schools. Prior to joining Charter School Management Corporation, she served as senior loan and business development officer, vice president, with NCB Capital Impact (now Capital Impact Partners) for nearly six years. During this time, she had the opportunity to lead innovation, strategic and tactical planning for Capital Impact’s education sector; to manage nationwide partnerships and loan programs; and to assist with the development and implementation of new products and services. She underwrote complex transactions, including New Markets Tax Credits and credit enhancements for tax-exempt bond financing, and managed a loan portfolio of $63 million. Her community outreach efforts included presentations at a variety of national and state conferences.
Jennifer has also served as a lending manager at RSF Social Finance providing loans nationwide that promoted social and environmental impact, especially to independent and charter schools. She worked with entrepreneurs in disadvantaged communities on Chicago's south side as a loan officer at ACCION Chicago and Harris Bank. Her personal interests are rooted in building strong communities, which she exhibits in her work as the board treasurer of Community Learning Center Schools, an Alameda-based Charter Management Organization, and on the audit committee for Bread for the World.
Jennifer will further support CSMC’s mission to free schools from financial management so they can devote time and energy to their core mission: educating students. CSMC’s many years of serving charter schools has allowed them to build services and products that empower schools with the highest level of financial transparency, as well as operational and compliance success. CSMC is committed to partnering with charter schools and their leaders to create and lead successful, innovative charter schools, and they have the experience, personnel and resources to make it happen.
