IOFM/TAPN’s Accounts Payable Conference & Expo tops 500 attendees
Portland, Maine (PRWEB) September 29, 2014 -- With just over 30 days until the event opening, the Institute of Finance and Management (IOFM) and The Accounts Payable Network (TAPN) announced last week that they exceeded a key milestone, enrolling over 500 attendees for the Accounts Payable Conference & Expo, October 26-29. That number includes over 70 attendees who will pursue APS (Accredited Payables Specialist) or APM (Accredited Payables Manager) certification during pre- or post-conference workshops.
This is the third event for Accounts Payable professionals held by IOFM and TAPN since the organizations joined forces in early 2014. (The Accounts Payable Conference and Expo East was held in the DC area in April, followed by the Accounts Payable and Purchase-to-Pay Leadership Conference at Disney in May.) The upcoming expo will be the largest to date – but executive director RD Whitney notes that this is only the beginning.
“It’s impossible to ignore the momentum we’re gaining now that IOFM and TAPN have come together,” says Whitney. “People in the field appreciate that we’ve brought together the two best resources for AP, and that they can now turn to one membership network, one certification program, and one series of events to get everything they need to advance their careers.”
Attendees can choose educational sessions from five tracks, and will enjoy cocktail receptions, networking luncheons, and the announcement of the Accounts Payable Department of the Year and Accounts Payable Manager of the Year. The conference agenda features presentations from top AP practitioners at notable organizations including the Gap, Home Depot, Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, JetBlue and IBM.
IOFM/TAPN has already announced its 2015 event schedule for AP, which includes the organization’s first-ever event in Canada (Accounts Payable Summit, April 20-22, 2015), as well as a unified spring event (AP & P2P Conference & Expo, May 18-21, 2015).
