Nighthawk’s drop-in voltage monitoring solutions offer both static and dynamic voltage monitoring. They provide alerts when set levels are surpassed and active feedback to the utility either as a direct message to personnel or as a signal to the substation SCADA system. This additional information can offer the utility extremely valuable insights and allow them to better manage system voltage during peak periods providing significant savings.

Nighthawk’s dynamic voltage monitoring solution provides real-time monitoring that is enabled by the Utility WebConnect Cellular Cloud platform. These real-time sessions provide unparalleled strategic visibility and control over voltage conservation efforts. Dedicated end of line Nighthawk voltage monitoring meters are set to report the voltage every few moments to substation control equipment allowing for dynamic voltage conservation. The Nighthawk Cloud solution allows the utility to exercise tighter controls with greater cost savings than previously possible.

Nighthawk’s static voltage monitor operates as a watchdog with settable control points. The over and under voltage conditions are determined by proprietary algorithms to account for dynamic voltage fluctuations across the system. Nighthawks Conservation Voltage Regulation and Optimization solutions can be set to report voltage at the same time every day or scheduled to have their voltage reads stored in Nighthawk’s Utility WebConnect database on an automated basis. Using our Time-of-Use feature, meters can have their voltage measurements recorded every minute to every hour and stored on the meter for periodic collection via the cellular connection to our Cloud database.
