Dr. Martin pointed out that during the past 20 years, LASIK has become the safest, most successful and most popular method of vision correction available today. Each year, well over 500,000 LASIK procedures are successfully performed to correct myopia (nearsightedness), hyperopia (farsightedness) and astigmatism. “As LASIK continues to grow in popularity, manufacturers like AMO continue to develop new diagnostics and laser platforms that will allow surgeons to deliver the highest quality of vision,” said Dr. Martin. “Whenever I can help share how North Shore Eye Care has embraced their technology to help patients a better quality of life – and better vision – I am extremely pleased to do so.”
