Resorts of Ontario Announces Upcoming Product/FAM Tour
Orillia, Ontario (PRWEB) September 29, 2014 -- Resorts of Ontario (http://www.resortsofontario.com), an association representing more than 100 of Ontario’s finest resort hotels, country inns, lodges and housekeeping cottage resorts, is pleased to announce that they are holding a familiarization or FAM tour in October. The Resorts of Ontario meeting planners’ Product/FAM Tour allows Ontario meeting and company event planners to familiarize themselves with a selection of Ontario resorts and inns that cater to corporate group events and special functions such as conventions, conferences, meetings, seminars and retreats, and showcase all that they offer.
Seven Ontario resorts and inns will take part in the Resorts of Ontario FAM Tour, to be held October 7th through October 9th, 2014. The Ontario tourism regions highlighted during the tour include Central Counties, the Niagara Region, Bruce/Grey/Simcoe and Muskoka. FAM Tour attendees will be hosted by the participating resorts and inns for two nights and three days. Resorts of Ontario has facilitated a special partnership with Bruce, Grey, Simcoe RTO and Muskoka Tourism in order to highlight for attendees each region’s unique attributes as a desirable destination for group events. FAM Tour attendees include both third-party meeting planners and in-house company planners.
“We are very pleased with the response to Resorts of Ontario meeting planners’ Product/FAM Tour. FAM Tours are a terrific way to build relationships with meeting planners,” states Glenn Spriggs – Resorts of Ontario Manager, Member Field Services. “There is an increased demand for meetings, events and special functions at resorts and inns. Ontario resorts and inns have become very popular with corporate clients, especially for group team building events. They provide unique venues and a one-of-a-kind experience for business clients. Ontario resorts are easily accessible from the GTA and are open for business all year round, with meeting coordinators onsite to help with all the details. As much as 50% to 80% of resorts and inn business can come from group bookings. Obviously, it is a market that Ontario inns and resorts welcome. This familiarization tour will be the first of many,” say Spriggs.
