Camp Soaring Eagle Hosts Annual Affair “Soaring To New Heights” To Benefit Safe Camp Programs For Seriously Ill Children
Scottsdale, Ariz (PRWEB) September 30, 2014 -- Camp Soaring Eagle will host its Annual Affair on November 1 at Signature Flight Support in the Scottsdale Air Park. More than 400 guests will gather in support of Camp Soaring Eagle during its signature gala event featuring a VIP reception, live and silent auctions, dinner and a show by renowned comedian, Rita Rudner. The nonprofit organization provides seriously ill children with the opportunity to attend medically supervised camps at no cost to the campers and families.
“Camp Soaring Eagle is really making a difference in the lives of children living with illnesses,” said Debbie Gaby, Annual Affair Co-Chair. “Every child deserves the chance to laugh and just be a kid, and thanks to the support of the community, this organization is able to give that precious gift to so many families.”
Since 2007, Camp Soaring Eagle has provided support to more than 5,000 children batting serious and chronic illnesses and their families. Depending on the program, campers enjoy a wide range of activities such as horseback riding, fishing, archery and crafts. Each event is specifically tailored to the child’s individual needs and medical restrictions. Campers are usually referred to Camp Soaring Eagle from their pediatricians and medical professionals volunteer each weekend to provide the highest level of safety and care.
Illness-specific programs are geared towards campers and families facing a variety of illnesses such as: blood disorders, cancer, bowel diseases, respiratory diseases and type 1 diabetes. Camp Soaring Eagle gives children a chance to interact with peers facing the same battles and a place where they don’t have to feel alone or different than other kids.
During the event, Linda and Russ Perlich will be honored with the Inspiring Hope Award and the Children’s Philanthropy Award will be presented to Cardon Children’s Medical Center. Tickets are $500 per person and a variety of sponsorship and table opportunities are still available.
