ADOMANI Raises More Than 100,000 Dollars Through GoFundMe to Convert a School Bus
Milpitas, California (PRWEB) September 30, 2014 -- ADOAMNI, Inc. reached its goal of $100,000 for its first “crowdfunding” campaign through GoFundMe. The campaign, which surpassed its goal in 17 days of going live, was for a portion of the funds necessary to convert a diesel powered bus to a zero-emission, all-electric bus for the Stockton Unified School District (SUSD). The campaign rallied citizens of the San Joaquin Valley and will provide a portion of the funds necessary for the conversion of a SUSD bus.
The ADOMANI team was impressed with the crowdfunding campaign’s success. ADOMANI’s new CEO, Jim Reynolds, said, “These are exciting times for the electric bus industry. The number of school and commercial applications for this product is growing every day. We at ADOMANI are looking forward to working with these forward thinking schools in developing grid-to-vehicle and vehicle-to-grid products that serve this market place.”
ADOMANI recently responded to a Request for Proposal (RFP) initiated by the San Joaquin Valley Air Pollution Control District. The results of this particular grant are still pending. According to Kevin Kanning, ADOMANI COO, “In many cases, RFP respondents are required to provide matching funds. Generous donations like through GoFundMe may help future school districts like the Stockton Unified School District. This will definitely help defray the cost of converting existing school buses.”
Mr. Kanning said, “ADOMANI reached out to the Stockton Unified School District after hearing of their impressive solar photovoltaic (PV) project designed to generate up to 6.7 megawatts (MW) of clean solar power for their schools and facilities in the district. The anticipated energy savings will not only benefit the district's school programs and services, the solar PV systems will also provide substantial environmental benefits by eliminating 290 million pounds of annual carbon dioxide emissions.”
The conversion bus will likely be a 50 passenger type-D school bus similar to two other buses ADOMANI has converted. One ADOMANI converted bus is currently in use in Gilroy. The bus was a collaboration between ADOMANI and the Gilroy Unified School District. The charging station is supplemented with solar panels so the bus is emission free. ADOMANI will tailor the Stockton bus to accommodate the district’s needs, though they can supply a bus with enough power to travel 100 miles.
ADOMANI has a range of other gas or diesel to all-electric or plug-in hybrid vehicle conversions. They have converted an all-electric Ford F150, an all-electric Ford Ranger, a hybrid Dodge RAM 1500, a supercharged hybrid Ford Mustang, and an all-electric supercar.
The San Joaquin Valley is one of the areas most afflicted by pollutants in California. ADOMANI’s all-electric converted school bus will eliminate 33,400 pounds of diesel emissions annually. Included in the eliminated waste are several cancer causing substances found in diesel exhaust. Removing these carcinogenic substances and other harmful pollutants will provide safer and cleaner air for the children and residents of Stockton.
ADOMANI is a green initiative vehicle technology company specializing in gas/diesel to all-electric and plug-in hybrid vehicle conversions. ADOMANI has arranged for $200 Million in loans for new vehicles and conversions. For more information contact adomanielectric(at)gmail(dot)com.
