Drug Rehab For Women Offers 101 Reasons to Celebrate Recovery
Fort Lauderdale, Fla (PRWEB) September 30, 2014 -- In celebration of SAMHSA's nationally recognized Recovery Month this September, Destination Hope: The Women’s Program, has been running a social media campaign celebrating 101 reasons to celebrate recovery. Pulled from clients, staff and alumni, the 101 reasons campaign has put the positive aspects of recovery into focus.
“We wanted to do something special to celebrate recovery for our clients and online audience,” said Ben Brafman, CEO of Destination Hope. “This was a great way to get people to share their stories, celebrate their success and inspire others to find their own path to recovery.”
Alumni, staff and current clients have contributed to the campaign, which launched on the program’s social media pages earlier this month. Contributions were taken during staff meetings, group meetings and crowd sourced online.
Some of the most popular 101 reasons to celebrate recovery include: “forgiveness”, “learning from our mistakes instead of numbing them”, “because we can”, “because we had our 2nd, 3rd and 4th chances”, “because we are tired of living dual lives”, “because our kids got their parents back”. The 101 reasons will be turned into an infographic and posted on the programs website over the next few weeks.
“There are many ways to celebrate and many events around the country to honor Recovery Month,” said Brafman. “This is a little bit of a virtual celebration of those in recovery, whether for one day, one week or ten years.”
Many relapse prevention plans include celebrating recovery one day at a time, but counselors at Destination Hope: The Women’s Program noticed that many alumni, current clients and staff often don’t realize how far they have come in such a short time without taking a step back. The 101 reasons campaign was design to highlight that recovery is a shared experience and that all triumphs in recovery are worth celebrating.
