IMPACT Seeks To Broaden Ironworker Reach Through Expanded Contractor Training Program
Washington (PRWEB) September 30, 2014 -- For over a decade, the labor-management partnership, Ironworker Management Progressive Action Cooperative Trust (IMPACT), has been striving to broaden the reach of the ironworking industry. Funded by the contributions of ironworkers and their employers, it's progressive and innovative world-class programs and training have helped increase job opportunities and encourage safer working practices and conditions.
After assisting the Iron Workers’ Apprenticeship and Training Department in modernizing their Apprentice Training Program, now a similar effort is underway to expand world-class training and educational opportunities for contractors in North America. IMPACT currently offers highly sought after contractor courses through FMI, such as Getting Paid, the Job Profits Program, Effective Project Management and Business Information Modeling. But their key goal over the next few years is to develop a powerful and effective contractor training program that will support the efforts of contractors to grow, develop and strengthen their businesses.
To achieve this vision, IMPACT is currently working to develop a better understanding of the training,
education and knowledge needed by contractors to improve their companies and achieve success. Through ongoing needs assessment surveys, information is being gathered and reviewed to determine what training contractors feel is most important, both immediately and during the next few years. Plans are in place to begin prompt development and implementation.
“We at IMPACT will stop at nothing to help our Contractors continue to grow and regain market share.
Developing these programs is just the tip of the iceberg,” said IMPACT CEO Kevin Hilton. “We will continue to succeed in creating the type of courses that can only enhance and elevate our contractors to a level unseen before, even if it means working around the clock. The key factor is insight from our contractors on what they need so that we can develop the training they all deserve.”
