THE WOODLANDS, Texas (PRWEB) October 02, 2014
Petroleum Wholesale, L.P. today announced that it has started a major redevelopment of its travel center located at Interstate 20 and FM 1788 in Midland, Texas. The former Warfield Truck Stop and Warfield Restaurant will be demolished and replaced with a state of the art 41,000 square foot travel center which will include a food court with Steak-n-Shake, Subway and Texas barbecue, an Ace Hardware store, a Carquest auto/truck parts store, a discount grocery and a full service convenience store. The fuel offerings will include gasoline, auto and truck diesel fuel, and Clean Energy LNG/CNG. The facility will be open 24 hours per day.
“We are proud to bring these new offerings to the Midland community” said John Cook, president of Petroleum Wholesale. “Midland has seen phenomenal growth in the past few years and we believe that this facility will be an asset for the entire area.”
The inclusion of a full service hardware store and full service auto/truck parts store in a 24 hour convenience and discount grocery store is a first for the industry. “Our relationships with Ace Hardware and Carquest have allowed this unique opportunity” said Cook. “We live in a fast paced world and think that having these types of goods and services available on a 24/7 basis is long overdue.”
The interior of the new building will include many historic photos of Midland and the surrounding area and the décor will evoke the heritage of the region. To help house the many employees needed to run the new travel center, Petroleum Wholesale is building a 75 unit RV park on adjoining property.
This new travel center will be the first of its kind in the U.S. and is the first of several planned by Petroleum Wholesale. Development will begin soon at sites in Wickett, Texas, in Vado, New Mexico, and in San Simon, Arizona with more to follow.
