Matthew Hill, Attorney at Law with Hill and Ponton, Writes New Book to Help Veterans Seeking VA Benefits
Daytona Beach, FL (PRWEB) September 30, 2014 -- Matthew Hill, Attorney at Law for the law offices of Hill and Ponton, recently wrote and released a book titled "Post Traumatic Stress Disorder And Veterans Affairs Compensation."
Hill says the book is intended to offer advice and help for veterans unfamiliar with the VA's system for veteran disability benefits -- a system most veterans are struggling to understand.
"This book was written so veterans themselves have a handwritten reference when navigating the system of compensation benefits on their own," says Hill. "It educates them on the system, what they need to do to get their claim started and what they can expect throughout the process."
And, as its title implies, the book is especially geared toward veterans who now have post traumatic stress disorder, or PTSD, as a result of their service.
"Although PTSD can devastate a veteran’s ability to hold a job and maintain relationships with their loved ones, the VA does not do a great job at recognizing and rating PTSD in disability claims," Hill says. "Many veterans with PTSD see their condition slip through the cracks when they try to seek compensation as a result."
Hill says the book has already received highly positive feedback from veterans who have read it.
"The feedback has been very positive," he says. "It helps them understand what to expect, and it is very user friendly. It explains a lot of the jargon the VA tends to use; it is very specific and easy for vets to understand and use."
The book is available for download as an eBook on Hill and Ponton's website, and Hill says veterans can get a free digital copy by calling the Hill and Ponton office.
"The book is valued at $17.99, but we have decided to offer it for free to our veterans and their dependents," says Hill.
