Printing Electronics? 3D Printer and Nano Inks for Printed Electronics Being Developed by Tel Aviv Listed ‘Nano Dimension’ (TASE: ZBI)

Share Article

3D printing and nano-technology are converging to enable printing of multi-layer electronic circuits.

Bringing PCB prototyping in-house

Nano Dimension is developing a 3D printer for multi-layer circuit boards (PCBs) as well as a suite of nano-tech inks. The 3D inkjet printer is intended to be used for rapid prototyping of PCBs and small batch production of professional multi-layer PCBs.

The 3D printer will dramatically shorten the PCB prototype development cycle. The printer will also allow circuit board developers to keep IP in-house as they will no longer need to outsource PCB prototype manufacturing.

Nano Dimension is developing the desktop-sized 3D printer, the software and the nano-particle conductive and insulating inks required for digital printing of multi-layer circuit boards.

Nano Dimension has an exclusive license to use silver nano-particle processes developed by the renowned Prof. Magadassi and patented by Yissum, the Hebrew University’s technology transfer company.

On the 1st of October the Israeli Office of the Chief Scientist granted Nano Dimension $500k of research funding.

About Nano Dimension

The 3D printing and nano-technology company Hyrax Technologies was acquired by TASE listed ZBI on the 25.08.14. A name change to ‘Nano Dimension’ is pending.

Nano Dimension is dedicated to bringing the 3D printing revolution to the world of electronics. With its innovative mechanical, software and nano-particle ink developments the company plans to change the traditional PCB development cycle.
