Announcement: GuitarControl.com releases “Simple Acoustic Blues Guitar Riff in E - Blues Guitar Lesson”
(PRWEB) October 01, 2014 -- Claude demonstrates this easy acoustic blues guitar lesson in the key of E based in the 12 bar blues progression. Claude performs some variations of the classic shuffle rhythm as well as incorporating seventh chords into the mix. Johnson uses a common blues lick based in double stops and demonstrates it as follows; 3rd fret of the 3rd string with second finger and 2nd fret of the 2nd string with 2nd finger, which he strums once and then slides it up one half step and strums it twice as triplets three times and follows that with the 2nd fret of the 3rd string with 2nd finger and does a pull-off to the open string to the open 4th string and a hammer-on to the 2nd fret with 2nd finger to finish it off. Guitar TAB’s are available for this easy blues guitar lesson at GuitarControl.com.
The 12 Bar Blues Progression is one of the most common chord progressions in popular music. It is most commonly based on the 1-4-5 or 1-4-5-b6 (flat 6) chord progressions. The last two measures is usually a turnaround. The Turnaround is used many styles of music. The Blues Turnaround or V, VI, I (5-4-1) Turnaround came from the Ragtime Blues era. The cadence of the Blues Turnaround is backwards from traditional western music. The job of the Blues Turnaround is to show the listener where the chord progression ends and starts over, it does this by ending on the V (five) of the chord progression making it want to resolve back to the I (one).
Double Stops is the technique of playing two strings at the same time, usually done using the hybrid picking technique.
