Bone McAllester Norton Gives Back to Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee
Nashville, Tenn. (PRWEB) October 01, 2014 -- Nashville-based law firm Bone McAllester Norton PLLC donated nearly 400 pounds of food to Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee today as part of “Hunger Action Month.” The firm, founded in 2002, has always had a strong commitment to serving the local community, and in September, attorneys and staff members joined together to donate canned goods and non-perishable food items for the cause.
“More than 110,000 of our neighbors, our friends and people we see every day here in Davidson County are affected by hunger,” said Sam J. McAllester III, vice chairman and member of Bone McAllester Norton. “Everyone at our firm is committed to giving back to our community, and this was something we were proud to participate in.”
On every Friday in September, attorneys and staff members were encouraged to donate food. Boxes were quickly filled, and the reward was an immediate sense of helping someone else in need.
Bone McAllester Norton supports a wide range of community programs and activities, striving to make its culture synonymous with good works for clients and the community. Joining together with the food bank to provide hope for others was something that made perfect sense, McAllester said.
Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee is one of the largest and most comprehensive of more than 200 food banks and food distribution centers nationwide. During the last fiscal year, the organization provided 23 million meals to hungry children, families and seniors throughout the mid-state. Its mission is to feed hungry people and work to solve hunger issues in the community.
