Vanguard University Celebrates Groundbreaking of Landmark Building on Campus
Costa Mesa, CA (PRWEB) October 01, 2014 -- Vanguard University has announced the breaking ground on the Scott Academic Center on its campus, making significant renovations and upgrades to Vanguard’s “front door” in Costa Mesa. The kick-off event will take place on Saturday, October 4 at 10am, in the Veterans Courtyard on campus.
“We are thrilled to launch the public phase of the Through These Doors campaign on October 4 as we sprint to the finish line of the $7 million renovation of the Scott Academic Center,” said associate vice president for development and campaign management, Justin McIntee. “This project is well conceived, appropriately timed, and absolutely necessary to the future of Vanguard University.”
The Scott Building is currently the hub of student services, which includes Vanguard University admissions, financial aid, accounting and registrar offices. The innovative enhancements being made to the building will include ten new classrooms, a new café, expanded core programs, renovated public restrooms, a complete exterior facelift, and a tower element to give the building landmark significance.
“We are moving forward confidently with the understanding that our success will have a transformative impact on the lives of all students, faculty and staff, as we better fulfill our mission to honor God and serve others by equipping each student for a Spirit empowered life of Christ centered leadership and service,” said McIntee.
The $7 million project will serve the Costa Mesa campus significantly, as student population is near capacity and continues to expand over the next decade. With nearly all of the funds raised, alumni, parents, trustees, faculty and active supporters of the college are involved in the campaign endeavor, called Through These Doors.
October 4 will be the event that celebrates the generosity of the Vanguard community and begin the campaign’s sprint to the finish line. The event will also launch the public phase of the campaign for the university, with city council members, board members, community supporters, alumni, faculty, and students in attendance.
