Firm Launches “Think Further” Campaign to Examine What the Next 50 Years Will Bring in Healthcare, Energy, and Technology

Fred Alger Management, a leading asset management firm with approximately $21.5B in assets under management, today celebrates its 50th anniversary. Founded on October 2, 1964, Alger is globally recognized as a pioneer of growth-style investment management.

“Alger has successfully invested in stocks through five decades and countless business cycles to help our clients achieve their investment goals. As a result, we are recognized for our investment performance, our vision, and our innovation, all of which are a product of our investment philosophy and process,” said Daniel Chung, CEO and Chief Investment Officer.

Alger’s investment philosophy seeks to identify the best investment opportunities for clients by focusing on companies undergoing “Positive Dynamic Change” in the fundamentals of their businesses. This philosophy and the firm’s analyst-driven investment process built on original, fundamental, bottom-up research was created by founder Fred Alger in 1964, and continues to be the foundation of Alger’s investment strategies for U.S. and international companies.

“Global industries and economies are incredibly dynamic and are constantly evolving. Alger’s investment philosophy and process have proven to be particularly effective in identifying the investment opportunities that present themselves as economies and industries change over time,” added Mr. Chung.

In this spirit, Alger recently launched its “Think Further” campaign ( Contrary to the common practice of using anniversaries to reflect on past accomplishments, Alger is using its 50th anniversary as an opportunity to look forward and examine what the next 50 years will bring.

The “Think Further” campaign includes the release of a series of films entitled “Conversations with Tomorrow.” Each film features an expert in the fields of healthcare, energy, and technology, and explores what these areas will be like in 2064. The innovators featured in these thought-provoking films include healthcare pioneer Dr. Daniel Kraft, energy and material science expert Donald Sadoway, Ph.D., and technology and artificial intelligence authority Dr. Jennifer Healey.

“We are proud to launch the ‘Think Further’ campaign and ‘Conversations with Tomorrow’ film series, which is a one of a kind campaign to celebrate this significant milestone,” said Mr. Chung. “This campaign illustrates how we, as investors, develop insights into the sectors, industries, and companies we follow, by looking ‘further’ into the fundamentals of the world around us and ‘thinking’ deeply about the dynamic changes coming.”
