The Montfort Academy Named 2014 School of Excellence
Mount Vernon, New York (PRWEB) October 14, 2014 -- The Montfort Academy, New York’s classical Catholic high school, is proud to announce that the Cardinal Newman Society named Montfort a 2014 School of Excellence. This distinction is awarded to high schools throughout the United States who have demonstrated sustained academic excellence and an authentic Catholic character. Only 71 schools made the list, and only 3 from New York State.
Richard Greco, Jr., Montfort founder and Chairman of the Board, said, “The Montfort Academy is a very special place, truly committed to providing an education that is both academically rigorous and authentically Catholic. I am proud of the administration, teachers, students, and parents at Montfort; this distinction is a result of their dedication.”
David Petrillo, Headmaster, added “We are very proud to be recognized by the Cardinal Newman Society whose standards represent the highest ideals of Catholic education. Being named to their Honor Roll confirms us in our unique classical curriculum and pedagogy and inspires us to remain ever joyful and fearless in our pursuit of truth, as Catholic education always does.”
About The Montfort Academy: The only classical Catholic secondary school in the Archdiocese of New York, The Montfort Academy has been named a School of Excellence six times and is one of only three high schools in New York State to receive this special designation in 2014.
