Talk Radio Program Gives Cannabis Company Executive a Platform to Discuss His Industry's Challenges and Opportunities
Denver, Colorado (PRWEB) October 02, 2014 -- In another indication of the public's growing interest in Colorado's legal marijuana industry, Mandy Connell – an influential talk radio host at 630 KHOW in Denver – recently invited Kindman president and CEO Ryan Fox on to her program, to speak about the industry's workings.
Connell and Fox discussed the opportunities and challenges currently facing the cannabis industry.
Along with issues like the cannabis black market and concerns about children being exposed to marijuana, they also examined ground-breaking efforts by Colorado state officials to create a regulatory framework for a very new business model – and efforts by those working in the legal cannabis industry to perfect and sell their products to a growing consumer base.
As the founder of one of Colorado's most established and respected marijuana producers and distributors, Fox said the radio interview underscored his optimism about the cannabis industry.
“What this says is, there is a great public curiosity about legal marijuana,” he said, “and that there is still a large, unknown element of what goes on in the industry, and what it takes to do what we do,”
“And I think it's pretty cool that there is that curiosity,” he added. “and that we have an opportunity to talk about it.”
By state law, legal recreational marijuana businesses in Colorado are not allowed to advertise on radio, television or in many print publications. And Fox said those limitations can make it difficult for people in his business to educate the public about their industry.
“It becomes about image,” he noted, “and for a long time, I think, the image associated with cannabis was a hippie and a stoner who maybe didn't do anything else in their life. The reality now is that people from all walks of life are participating in the legal production and consumption of cannabis.”
