I want to show you a funny and easy blues jam you can do on the acoustic guitar
(PRWEB) October 03, 2014
“I want to show you a funny and easy blues jam you can do on the acoustic guitar”, says Johnson, “you can do this with either an E major or an E seven chord”. Claude demonstrates the E major chord as follows; open 6th string, 2nd fret of the 5th string with 2nd finger, 2nd fret of the 4th string with 3rd finger, first fret of the 3rd string with first finger and 2nd and first strings open.
To make the E7 chord you simply play the E major and remove your 3rd finger so that the 4th string is played open. Johnson continues this easy blues guitar lesson by demonstrating the strumming rhythm as follows; down stroke on beat one and then up strokes on the & of beats 2, 3 and 4, which he refers to as swing style.
Next Claude performs the rhythm sequence and follows that with one measure of improvised notes from the E minor pentatonic scale and then continues by trading off one measure of rhythm and melody every other measure. Johnson demonstrates the minor pentatonic scale as follows; open 6th string to the 3rd fret with 3rd finger, open 5th string to the 2nd fret with 2nd finger and then repeat this sequence for strings four and three, open 2nd string to the 3rd fret with 3rd finger and then repeat this for the first string.
