Fandango's "Scare-Off" Contest Gives Fans the Chance to Appear in an Upcoming Blumhouse Movie by Reimagining Their Favorite Fright Film Moments in Instagram Videos
LOS ANGELES, CA (PRWEB) October 06, 2014 -- Fandango, the nation’s leading moviegoer destination, ushers in the Halloween season with “Scare-Off” (fandango.com/scareoff), a fan-driven social media contest hosted on the site’s horror film hub, “House of Screams,” it was announced today. The creator of the winning video submission will receive a walk-on role (or lay-down role—as a corpse!) in an upcoming film from horror master Jason Blum’s Blumhouse Productions, the production company behind “Paranormal Activity,” “Insidious,” “Sinister,” “The Purge” and Universal’s supernatural thriller, “Ouija,” in theaters on October 24.
Fandango’s “Scare-Off” contest invites fans to create an original video inspired by a favorite horror movie moment, and then submit it via a video upload on Instagram with the hashtag #FandangoScareContest. The contest runs through October 27, and the winner will be selected by Fandango judges, along with producer Jason Blum and the cast of “Ouija.” Entries will be judged on originality, creativity and relevance to the theme.
The grand prize winner will be announced on October 31 and receive hotel and travel accommodations for two to the filming location of an upcoming Blumhouse movie.
The “Scare-Off” Contest is part of “House of Screams,” Fandango’s digital content destination dedicated to the season’s scariest movies, featuring original and exclusive video content and access to advance ticketing at more than 24,000 screens nationwide.
