Quintessentially Wine Product Release Announcement - New Series of Monthly Wine Club Cases – Curated by Matthew Jukes
London, UK (PRWEB UK) 6 October 2014 -- Quintessentially Wine and wine communicator Matthew Jukes today unveiled a new Monthly Wine Case Series. Gold medal quality is guaranteed in every wine. All wines are selected because they are ready for drinking.
The Quintessentially Wine Monthly Case is made up of 12 unique and individual wines selected by internationally renowned wine critic Matthew Jukes and includes a copy of his tasting notes in each case. There will be a minimum of 4 whites and 4 reds wines every month. The Monthly Case will also have a seasonal flavour, such as more Champagnes during Christmas, more white wines in spring, rosés during summer, more reds in winter. Wines will be a mix of traditional favourites and rare and exciting discoveries.
Matthew Jukes says, “In the October Monthly Case the diversity of flavour and the myriad of wine regions represented gives this collection of twelve bottles the feel of an ultimate tasting case. In fact, it is so appealing I can feel myself planning a dinner party with a view to opening every single bottle and lining them up down the middle of my dining room table so that my guests can partake in a mind-expanding wine tasting.
From the palate-aligning Laurent Perrier Ultra Brut, to the luxurious, organic, Pinot Noir-based Serge Mathieu Champagne and on to the lusty, bold Quartz Reef the sparklers alone are simply stunning.
The whites start quietly with the haunting Lageder Pinot Grigio and then you have a pair of completely contrasting Sauvignons from the two most important regions in the world for this variety – Marlborough in New Zealand and the Loire in France. The final white is a phenomenal Chardonnay from northern Italy which would make a white Burgundy blush.
The reds are all benchmark classics. You choose the order to drink them in to suit your own palate. My suggestion would be to start with the ten year old, ‘gentleman’s claret’, Fleur Pourret. It is such a distinguished, elegant style, and it is at its peak right now. You then have three more reds and they are all structured, imposing wines. I would tackle Vallado next – the plum, dark chocolate, black cherries and spice are heavenly in this wine. This modern style of Douro is delighting fans of suave, honed reds. Then move on to Best’s Great Western Bin O Shiraz. This is a mighty wine with a brooding core of earth and spice and its landslide of old vineyard flavours reminds me of the great wines from Cornas and Hermitage. Some of the grapes used from this wine come from one hundred and forty year old vines! Finally, the Amarone della Valpolicella Ambrosan is a model of its style. The black cherry flavours are punctuated with espresso beans, truffles, juicy black liquorice sweeties and epic, cedary oak. The richness/sweetness ratio coming from the partially dried grapes is countered by refreshing acidity and bright tannins. This is a perfectly balanced Amarone and it is guaranteed to leave you feeling breathless.”
