Decosimo Litigation Support Specialists Mike Costello & Sharon Hamrick to Present at LCA Fall Conference
New Orleans, LA (PRWEB) October 06, 2014 -- Decosimo, a Top 100 accounting and business advisory firm, announced that Mike Costello and Sharon Hamrick with Decosimo Advisory Services will be serving as featured presenters at the Litigation Council of America’s 2014 Fall Conference & Celebration of Fellows, which will take place October 8-10. With Marion Walker of Fisher & Phillips, LLP on the final morning of the conference, Mr. Costello and Ms. Hamrick will present “Forensic Analysis of Financial Statements: Anything Look Odd to You?,” providing a discussion of the critical process of thoroughly examining and understanding financial statements, tax returns and related financial data received through discovery.
As part of their presentation, Mr. Costello and Ms. Hamrick will explore many of the key items and relationships litigation attorneys should be considering during their review of financial statements and financial data in general. They also plan to share some tips for identifying potential red flags during the examination of financial information.
Mr. Costello serves on the board and is a principal with Decosimo, of which Decosimo Advisory Services is a division. He is also a managing principal of Decosimo Corporate Finance, LLC, a mid-market investment bank specializing in sell-side advisory services which is a member firm of FINRA (Financial Industry Regulatory Authority)/SIPC. Mr. Costello is a certified public accountant (CPA), accredited in business valuation (ABV), certified in financial forensics (CFF), an accredited senior appraiser (ASA), a certified fraud examiner (CFE), and a consultant with more than 30 years of training and experience in business valuations, forensic accounting, business acquisitions and divestitures, exit planning, and related fields. Mr. Costello’s experience includes extensive consulting work and testimony in tax, accounting, financial, economic, and business issues of commercial litigation, with emphasis on business valuation, economic damage and forensic accounting issues. He also provides expert testimony in personal injury, wrongful death and wrongful termination litigation.
Ms. Hamrick, who holds CPA, CFF and CFE designations, serves as the Director of Litigation Support for the Decosimo Advisory Services practice. She is devoted to the practice areas of commercial litigation support, consulting and forensic accounting. Ms. Hamrick has extensive experience in financial analysis and preparation of expert reports for state and federal courts, especially related to litigation involving contract disputes, breach of contract, manufacturing and supply disputes, wrongful termination, personal injury and wrongful death. She has provided litigation consultation services to both plaintiff and defendant attorneys in these matters. Through her work in forensic accounting, Ms. Hamrick has developed internal control assessments and suggested improvements for strengthening those controls, especially to not-for-profit organizations. She has investigated allegations of fraud in numerous businesses including manufacturing, check-cashing and medical practices.
