LPL Financial Wins Two 2014 Learning in Practice Awards

The Learning In Practice Awards honor leadership and excellence in the design and delivery of employee education programs.

LPL Financial LLC, the nation's largest independent broker-dealer*, a leading RIA custodian, and a wholly owned subsidiary of LPL Financial Holdings Inc., received two 2014 Learning In Practice Awards from Chief Learning Officer magazine. The awards are considered among the highest honors in the workforce development field.

LPL was awarded the Gold in Strategy and the Bronze in Collaboration, recognizing the company’s exceptional leadership in developing and executing two landmark organizational development and training programs: LPL U, a corporate university with colleges aligned to specific learning needs of various business groups, and Pathways Career Development Center.

LPL accepted the awards during a dinner at the Fall 2014 Chief Learning Officer Symposium in Carlsbad, Calif. “This is a tremendous honor and a great recognition of our team,” said Don O’Grady, senior vice president of Talent Development at LPL. “Supporting the growth and development of LPL employees is a key component of our strategy to be an employer of choice, and we are delighted by this recognition of our accomplishments toward that goal.”

LPL and other finalists will be recognized in a special feature in the December issue of Chief Learning Officer magazine.

In addition to the Learning In Practice Awards, last month LPL won a silver Brandon Hall Group Excellence in Learning Award for Best in Learning Strategy and Governance for LPL’s “Smarter, Simpler, More Personal Integrated Talent Management” program. The Brandon Hall Excellence Awards, now in its 20th year, recognize organizations that have successfully deployed programs, strategies, modalities, processes, systems and tools that have achieved measurable results.
