Rimini Street Announces Delivery of Global Tax, Legal and Regulatory Updates

The updates provide clients with significant new tax, legal and regulatory changes required for the U.S., Canada, Brazil, Hungary and the United Kingdom. Updates for U.S. and Canada
In the U.S. and Canada, there were numerous tax, legal and regulatory updates required at the federal, state and local levels, many of which become effective January 1, 2015.
At the U.S. federal government level, Rimini Street delivered changes to keep clients in compliance with annual reporting requirements, including updates for electronic filing of year-end W-2 information with the Social Security Administration. Rimini Street’s updates also included documentation surrounding the Defense of Marriage Act decisions impacting taxation of healthcare benefits.
At the state level, Rimini Street delivered minimum wage increases effective in 2015 for Connecticut, Hawaii, Maryland, Massachusetts, New York, Rhode Island, Vermont and West Virginia. Unemployment Insurance Taxable Wage Base figures were also adjusted for several states, including Florida, Iowa, Kansas, Massachusetts, Nevada, New York, South Carolina and Washington. In addition, Rimini Street revised state withholding tables for Illinois, North Carolina and Ohio, and provided changes for the Federal Unemployment Tax Act (FUTA) for Nevada and Vermont. At the local level, numerous local tax changes were included for Kentucky, Ohio and Pennsylvania. The "Year-End Processing 2014 U.S. Reference Guide" was also delivered, containing detailed information on the data set-up, processing and printing of year-end tax forms.
For clients in Canada, Rimini Street provided instructions for preparing year-end reporting, as well as provincial tax table updates for Ontario. Rimini Street is also delivering a document related to changes to minimum wages in multiple provinces, including Alberta and Manitoba. In addition, Rimini Street is closely monitoring information from the Canada Revenue Agency, as well as Revenu Québec, for tax changes that will be delivered in December and effective in January 2015.
Updates for United Kingdom and Hungary

For example, Rimini Street delivered the automation of Direct Earnings Announcement (DEA) court orders to all UK SAP payroll clients. Rimini Street is also delivering a document related to the new Shared Parental Leave changes effective April 2015.
In Hungary, for example, Rimini Street also delivered changes to Invoice Rules outlining user reporting obligations.
Updates for Brazil
Rimini Street recently announced that it is delivering ongoing comprehensive tax, legal and regulatory updates to keep clients in compliance with all required Brazilian legislative updates related to Nota Fiscal eletrônica (NF-e 3.10) and Sistema Publico de Escrituracao Digital (SPED).
