To earn certification, a course is required to meet iNACOL’s National Standards for Quality Online Courses, proving it to be a valuable course for students nationwide.
This particular course introduces students to literature, walking them through grammar, essay writing, and the basics of literature before diving into poetry, novels, drama, non-fiction, and bestsellers. Its tagline—“Reading, Writing, and an obvious lack of Arithmetic”—showcases Shmoop’s student-friendly style, which, combined with the rigor necessary to meet a-g standards, makes for a fun and in-depth course that teachers and parents will be thrilled to oversee.
