(PRWEB UK) 7 October 2014
The Chartered Institution of Water and Environmental Management (CIWEM) has inducted John Rowley as a member of the Board of Trustees with immediate effect.
Working for the public benefit for a clean, green and sustainable world, CIWEM is the only independent, chartered professional body and registered charity with an integrated approach to environmental, social and cultural issues.
“The CIWEM has a clear vision to sustain the excellence of the people who develop and protect the environment now and for future generations,” said Rowley. “I am delighted to be elected to this prestigious professional body and I look forward to helping to review and develop environmental policies with the goal of sustainable development.”
There are many synergies between the CIWEM and Lloyd’s Register (LR), the parent company of LRQA. “LR is wholly owned by the Lloyd’s Register Foundation, a UK charity also dedicated to research and education to deliver public benefit, underpinned with LR’s stated mission to enhance the safety of life, property and the environment,” said Rowley. “Further, LRQA provides a range of environmental and water assurance services to some of the world’s leading organisations.”
Mr Jim Oatridge OBE, Chair of CIWEM's Trustee Board said “I’m delighted at John’s appointment; John has had a long association with the CIWEM and I know the entire board is looking forward to working with him to further the essential work that we are undertaking in promoting a clean, green and sustainable world. John brings a wealth of experience and his strategic insight and strong leadership will add enormous value not only to our organisation, but the global market at large.”
