The NAPSRx Extends Agreement with Over 325 Major Universities Who Will Offer the CNPR Certification Program for the Pharmaceutical Sales Industry

Pharmaceutical knowledge is the basic building block in securing relationships with physician customers. The CNPR Certification program offers that knowledge which qualifies entry level candidates for a career in pharmaceutical sales.


There is a great demand for pharmaceutical sales reps, which means there is an equal need for solid online training.

The NAPSRx is proud to announce that it is extending its agreement with Cengage Learning (E2Go) that will offer the CNPR Certification program through over 325 colleges and universities (schools include: Ohio State University, University of Texas, Rutgers University, University of Mississippi, Indiana University, Colorado State University, plus hundreds more!) However, you can also take advantage of the correspondence course directly through the National Association of Pharmaceutical Sales Representatives. NAPSRx offers correspondence education for individuals who look to gain entry into a career in pharmaceutical sales. The NAPSRx’s education course is designed to provide the pharmaceutical product knowledge and workforce skills necessary to acquire professional caliber positions in the pharmaceutical industry.

“With working students consistently have higher levels of stress and less time for continuing education we at the NAPSRx look to help with the CNPR Certification now being available online at over 300 colleges”. said Brad Sullivan, Education Director with the NAPSRx. “Because of this we are now able to help thousands of people get the needed training to work as a pharmaceutical sales rep.” A recent survey showed that students who work 20 or more hours a week typically have to reduce their academic course load to deal with the stress. “We are aware that most students for the CNPR work presently, the average student is working at least 20 hours a week.” Says Mr. Sullivan

The NAPSRx is a trade association for the pharmaceutical and biotech industry. NAPSRx represents sales representatives for these industries and is also a federally trademarked group. The NAPSRx currently has over 71,000 members and is growing rapidly. The National Association of Pharmaceutical Sales Representatives™ was initiated to increase and create sales training methods for entry level pharmaceutical sales reps. The NAPSRx also provides current trade information for thousands of professional Pharmaceutical Sales Representatives. The association provides education, training and testing for entry level reps who want to gain entry into the pharmaceutical industry as well as continuing education for current reps.

Any applicant who passes the NAPSRx examination with a score of 80% or better will receive the Federal Certification Mark of the CNPR. The certification (CNPR™) is marketed to the pharmaceutical industry. The CNPR™ examination and the NAPSRx™’s Training Manual were compiled by surveying the pharmaceutical community. The training program topics consist of the results from those surveys. NAPSRx™ certification and entry level training program is the largest in the United States. The examination/certification is an opportunity to expand the professional knowledge base of the pharmaceutical industry, changing regulations, good selling practices and the highest standard of ethics.

The NAPSRx provides a self-paced course with open enrollment, i.e. you can enroll and start the course at any time during the year. The course can be ordered directly from the NAPSRx but will also be offered in partnership with colleges and universities nationwide.
