Hampton, NH (PRWEB) October 10, 2014
Usource, a premier provider of energy management and procurement services, and Optimal Energy Group, an engineering firm that works with companies to reduce consumption, have teamed up to help educate Maine businesses on how to control the rising costs of energy.
Maine businesses are paying some of the highest energy rates in the nation, due in large part to infrastructure constraints and a growing demand for power – and any relief is at least a few years out.
“Energy prices are becoming increasingly volatile in the New England market. Usource and Optimal Energy Group have set out to help local businesses remain in the state and realize growth by educating on how to build an energy management strategy to address short- and long-term budget constraints,” said Scott MacDonald, managing director at Usource.
Last winter’s extreme temperatures led to a dramatic spike in energy rates, leaving many companies facing hefty electric bills, and looking for relief. The combined expertise of Usource and Optimal Energy Group addresses two main areas of energy cost control; consumption and procurement. Cost mitigation measures are available for both, but not widely known.
“Maine-based companies are feeling the impacts of increased energy costs on their bottom line. With no certain relief from additional energy sources on the horizon, it is critical for companies to be aware of products, services and incentives available to help reduce energy consumption and control spend,” said Lawrence O’Rourke, principal of Optimal Energy Group.
Together Usource and Optimal Energy Group have already conducted an educational session at Oxford Hills Chamber of Commerce and the Androscoggin Chamber of Commerce. The next educational session will be a panel discussion at the Androscoggin Chamber with Maureen Callahan, Energy Advisor from Usource, O’Rourke from Optimal Energy Group, and representatives from Efficiency Maine and Central Maine Power. This event will be held on October 23rd from 8-10:30a.
“This alignment of organizations will help give companies a more complete understanding of the energy market and the options available to reduce costs.” said MacDonald.
