Alaska for all Ages: Waterfall Resort Welcomes Multi-Generational Families for the 2015 Season
Ketchikan, AK (PRWEB) October 08, 2014 -- Bring the whole family to experience legendary sport fishing in the incredible Alaskan wilderness at Waterfall Resort, Alaska’s most popular fishing lodge. Near Ketchikan, just a 90-minute flight from Seattle, Waterfall Resort hosts multi-generational families each season who enjoy 52 oceanfront acres of nature trails and guided sport fishing excursions. Reservations are now available to book an all-inclusive vacation package during the 2015 summer season, June 12 – August 17, 2015.
A fish tale (courtesy of the Watanabe family of Hawaii): Akira “Aki” Watanabe first visited Waterfall Resort in 1987, and didn’t miss a single year until his last trip in 2013. Knowing that memories are the greatest gift to bestow upon family, in 1995 he started taking his wife, his children, five grandchildren and their spouses on his annual excursion. Aki wanted his grandchildren to experience the epitome of great fishing, and spend time together in a pristine natural setting, uninterrupted by modern technologies. Each year, the family would return from Alaska with new tales of their adventures. In 2004, Aki was made proud when his petite 95lb. granddaughters Jamie (age 20) and Lisa (age 19) managed to reel in a 98lb. halibut using teamwork! At age 82, Aki passed away this year, but his kin will hold onto their Alaska memories and plan to keep the tradition alive by returning again for years to come.
