David Thompson from GlobalHealth to Speak at Healthcare Predictive Analytics Summit
Dallas, TX (PRWEB) October 08, 2014 -- David Thompson, Vice President, Health Plan Operations at GlobalHealth has been selected to speak at the upcoming Health Care Predictive Analytics Summit, hosted by the World Congress organization.
The two day event slated for October 20th and 21st in Boston, Massachusetts, will focus on proven strategies for data utilization and analytics to manage population health, improve outcomes and lower costs. Mr. Thompson’s presentation titled Stratify Populations to Improve Results of Predictive Analytics Programs discusses the use of a more structured predictive modeling approach to population risk analytics versus only using historical utilization data about populations to determine future outcomes.
Key learning points of David’s presentation are:
• How to develop a 360 degree view of the patient risk profile with a combination of clinical and non-clinical risk factors
• Understand how predictive analytics can be used to identify “hidden” opportunities
• Risk and cost stratification of members and designing outreach programs with a narrow focus on these stratified groups
• Share the outcome results from GlobalHealth’s programs
Mr. Thompson’s presentation also discusses the State-of-Health approach used to identify the “mover” populations – population cohorts that have low costs currently, but could have an onset of complications leading to a high cost procedure in the next 12 months without a proactive intervention.
GlobalHealth is always focused on providing more Oklahomans with access to affordable, quality healthcare. In order to increase the level of engagement with its members’ health in the 77 counties of Oklahoma, GlobalHealth is forming collaborative partnerships with local health care provider organizations. They intend to leverage the clinical data from EHRs and claims data from payment systems to develop much more comprehensive predictive models by disease condition – Diabetes Risk, Congestive Heart Disease (CHD) Risk, CHF Risk, Asthma Risk, etc. Non-clinical factors discussed in the model include, but are not limited to: medical services utilization patterns, compliance adherence to care protocols, a member’s ease of access to the appropriate care services, the socioeconomic and demographic data of a member and the patient’s own perceived well-being.
“We are excited with the continued success of GlobalHealth in the market place. Their commitment to delivering superior quality of care with high level of engagement using innovative technologies and high-touch outreach programs has been described in the latest summer issue of HFMA Leadership magazine. David has a compelling story of outcomes and improvements in medical cost savings and member satisfaction ratings, as well as the bottom line per member per month (PMPM) cost reductions across the at-risk populations within GlobalHealth’s member base,” said Jay Reddy, Founder and CEO of VitreosHealth. “As the leading provider of predictive modeling software which enables data-driven decision-making, VitreosHealth is proud whenever the entire customer ecosystem benefits.”
