ARMYmobile Announces Major Sponsorship of the Army Ten-Miler Race
Westport, Conn. (PRWEB) October 07, 2014 -- Defense Mobile, a new 4G mobile service exclusively for veterans, military service members, and their families, is proud to be a major sponsor of the 30th annual Army Ten-Miler. The race raises money for family support and recreation services for military personnel.
Defense Mobile provides mobile service under iconic branch-specific brands: ARMYmobile, NAVYmobile, AIRFORCEmobile, MARINESmobile and COASTGUARDmobile.
“With over 35,000 runners from every branch of service, the Army Ten-Miler is the perfect venue to connect with veterans and those currently serving in the military,” stated Sean Drake, Defense Mobile’s Head of Corporate Partnerships. “We are excited to participate in this 30th anniversary race, as both a team and a sponsor, to show our support for the military community.”
The 30th annual Army Ten-Miler race is conducted by the U.S. Army Military District of Washington (MDW) in Washington DC, at the Pentagon. The race also features a two-day Expo with over 85 exhibitors and 35,000 attendees. The mission of the Army Ten-Miler is to support the Army, build morale, promote fitness and enhance community relations. All race proceeds benefit Soldier MWR programs.
ARMYmobile will begin the weekend at the Army Ten-Miler Expo as an exhibitor, to share information about its smartphones, no-contract plans and services. On race day, Team ARMYmobile, comprised of employees and several company-sponsored veterans, will participate in the Army Ten-Miler. After the race, ARMYmobile will host a hospitality tent in the Hooah Tent Zone, providing refreshments and handing out touch-screen race gloves to the first 5,000 runners eligible to sign up for Defense Mobile service.
“The Army Ten-Miler is fortunate to have the support of ARMYmobile. Their goal to improve the lives of the military community, through their mobile service and philanthropic activity, is in line with the mission of the Army Ten-Miler race. I am confident that with ARMYmobile’s support, the 30th Anniversary race will be another world class experience for runners,” commented Lieutenant General (Ret.) Ted G Stroup, Jr., former AUSA Vice President and member of Defense Mobile’s Board of Advisors.
