Citing Asian-American students and professionals interested in professional and personal growth, and corporate and government interest in building multicultural technical teams, SASE has announced its 2014 National Conference and Career Fair with the theme “Unleash Your Leadership Potential”. The conference will take place October 16-18 at the Pennsylvania Convention Center in Philadelphia, PA.
SASE 2014 Career Fair is the largest career fair for Asian-Americans in North America. It will be the best opportunity for Asian Americans to find careers with the top companies from around the world.
“This conference helps us fulfill our mission, which is to advance the personal growth and careers for Asian-American engineering and science students and professionals,” says Janet Blancett, Conference Chairperson for the 2014 event.
The conference begins with a Thursday, October 16 evening Welcome Reception. Friday, October 17 has 40 presentations on job search, personal growth, and professional development. Several panels, featuring representatives from a number of industries, are featured. Keynote speakers include John Kobara, respected figure nationally in the philanthropic and nonprofit communities, and Nina Davuluri, crowned Miss America 2014 and an advocate of STEM.
Friday evening includes a formal Gala Dinner and will feature a fireside chat with Miss America 2014, followed by a Q&A and meet-and-greet. The evening concludes with corporate hospitality suites which allows for more of an informal networking setting with the companies that will be recruiting the next day at the career fair.
Saturday, October 18 is the FREE Diversity Career Fair. More than 60 companies and government organizations will be recruiting Asian Americans, with many jobs and careers available. Full conference registration is not required to attend the Saturday Career Fair, and the Career Fair is included with conference registration. Conference and career fair registration is open to everyone.
GE, ITW, and Shell are the Lead Sponsors of the conference. Booz Allen Hamilton, Chrysler, DTE Energy, P&G and Toyota are some of the major sponsors, along with several other recruiting employers, such as Lockheed, Boeing, Draper and NASA.
The cost of the full conference is only $90 and includes the Thursday evening reception, three meals on Friday as well as professional workshops, keynotes, exclusive networking events and hospitality suites, and breakfast Saturday before the career fair.
“We are expecting close to 2,000 attendees, and I am very proud of the value this conference delivers to attendees and sponsors,” says Khanh Vu, SASE Executive Director, “Asian-American students and professionals will have the chance to hear from many premier speakers at this single event, and network with each other and hiring companies.
